WHY RENEWABLE ENERGY?
Renewable systems use renewable sources to supply homes with heating and hot water which are much more environmentally friendly that using fossil fuels.
There has never been a better time to upgrade your existing heating system to a more green, energy efficient system such as an air source heat pump.
The UK government has announced its plan to decarbonise the nation by introducing the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS).
This scheme aims to reduce carbon emissions from homes that are still dependant on fossil fuels with a further aim to
phase out the use of fossil fuels completely. The government grant currently stands at £7500 per household.
To be eligible to receive the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, you must have a valid Energy Performance certificate (EPC) which
must not show any recommendations for loft of cavity wall insulation.
If your EPC is showing one or both of these recommendations, you must carry this out first before applying for the grant.
There are exemptions to this requirement however, for example if it is a government listed building or
located in a conservation area. New builds will not be eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, however
self-build properties will be eligible to claim the grant.
It is also very important that the installer you decide to go with is MCS certified.

As the world works towards a zero emissions goal, we at Hello Renewables believe that if we all take action and make these small changes to ensure our homes run on greener, more efficient energy these goals will be achieved.
